Dial-up -> DSL -> Cable -> Fiber (FIOS) Cable is always going to be worse than Fiber as far as Internet, and DSL worse than cable, and dial-up worse than DSL. Currently have tmobile 5g and live within 1k feet of 2 towers, best part is I have a wired connection and still can't play a game😆 can barely download anything and barely works for streaming. Oh they sell you whatever claim you’ll buy. But you’re not getting better than 100mb average unless you buy true fiber T1 or T3 or Ethernet direct ($1k+ a month). Xfinity will give you 1.2Gbps down for a similar price (including introductory discounts) but 30Mbps up with no option of buying faster upload. In the age of WFH, cable internet offerings are a bit of a joke, but competition is extremely thin. You're lucky in Cow Hollow because there's no buried utilities.All ISPs are shit because they can get away with it. I use Centurylink without issues, and I've heard "good" things about Wave as well. Comcast is shit. Comcast is shit. Comcast is shit. I've had awful experiences with Wave. Comcast is a lot better (and cheaper) by comparison, although still not great.

About to move to the Bay Area (South Bay) for the first time in about 6 weeks, and I went looking for Internet for my new apartment. AT&T's website said that they could only offer a plan for 18 Mbps (!!!) for my new address, and Comcast Xfinity said the best plan they offered was "up to" 50 Mbps.I've done business with (paid the bills, dealt with issues) residential internet with the following companies.
